Everyone loves a Benefit kit and in my opinion they make the best ones, so when I heard about this latest kit I knew I had to have it! I also find that these make great gifts and as I already own a few Benefit kits I thought I'd add to the collection....

What originally drew me to this kit is I don't know about you but I've never been a fan of the dewy look, preferring my makeup to look matte, especially in the Summer months. Since I suffer from very oily skin to the point where after a few hours my foundation is usually sliding off my face, I thought this was a great little kit to keep my pores and oil under control. It contains mini versions of their most popular products, some are new and some are vintage Benefit.
I find these mini versions are a great way of discovering new products you would not normally purchase, and because of their cute size this also makes them ideal to carry around in your bag. The only downside to the minis, is the fact that usually it leads to me buying the full size product once I fall in love with it. So what's included?
The Porefessional
This is my old favourite The POREfessional primer, I love this primer because it leaves skin feeling silky and provides an excellent base for my foundation. This is definitely my favourite primer to use.

Dr Feelgood
Then there is the legendary Dr Feelgood. This is very much a love hate product amongst die-hard Benefit fans. I had considered buying this recently but was put off by the hefty price tag and some bad reviews I came across. I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this balm is, I think it can be applied under makeup as a base and also over makeup to mop up shine. I'm in love with the packaging of this as well as the scent and the texture is silky. I usually apply this after my primer to my t-zone but I'm not fully convinced it actually does anything apart from provide a smooth base for makeup! It also contains vitamins A, B and C which most primers do not so I guess that's what makes this different.

Agent Zero Shine
Then we have Agent Zero Shine which I had never tried before but which I love! This is basically a loose translucent powder so it is suitable for all skin tones, it has a peachy finish so once it is dusted over foundation it creates an airbrushed finish that really helps keep shine away all day. This is one of my favourite products in the kit and I will definitely be buying the full size. This also comes with a small brush which can be used to apply the powder but I usually find the brushes provided with kits are pretty naff so I prefer to use my Real Techniques Arched Powder brush.

Licence To Blot
Licence To Blot is a new product from Benefit. Again, I had heard mostly negative reviews of this so I was eager to try it for myself. This is basically a stick version of blotting sheets which you can carry around in your bag to get rid of shine throughout the day. I find the best way to use this is sparingly and to simply apply using short strokes across your t-zone and around your nose and any other areas prone to becoming shiny. I have heard that this can also be applied under makeup though I have yet to try it. I'm undecided about this product, I find that although it does get rid of shine and instantly mattifies skin, it has a tendency to move foundation around or make it appear lighter. I would prefer to stick to blotting sheets or powder to get rid of shine.

Shy Beam
Last but by no means least we have an exciting new product from Benefit which has yet to be released as a stand alone product and that's Shy Beam. This is a matte pinky peach highlighter and is basically a matte version of High Beam. I think Benefit are on to something with this creation and could hopefully spur a range of matte versions of all their highlighters. I love Benefit highlighters, my favourites are High Beam and Watt's Up. This is very subtle and I find it best to apply three dots along the tops of my cheek bones and two dots on the brow bone then blend to create a subtle high light. This has a lovely pinky peach sheen and I think due to its consistency and colour it could also be used as a concealer.

I am so impressed by this kit that I will repurchase once I have used up all the minis and I may even purchase some of the full size products. This is available for £28.50 and for all the products included I think it's well worth the price! A big thumbs up from me Benefit, this contains all I need to keep my foundation looking matte all day and though Benefit are known for their gimmicky products this just proves that when Benefit gets it right they can create some really amazing and ground breaking products which usually spur on other cosmetics brands to compete.
