Today I would like to share with you my thoughts on the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the colour Nude Eclipse 600. Someone recommended this to me on a recent shopping trip to Boots while I was stocking up on supplies, so I decided to give it a go...
I had been seeking a nude lip gloss/lipstick for a while as I wanted something neutral that I could wear everyday for work. I don't tend to wear bright colours on my lips as I find it difficult to find ones that suit my colouring, so my mum recommended this one to me as she loves it. Not to be confused with Rimmel Provocalips (you can read my review on that here) this is a lip lacquer as opposed to a long lasting gloss. Lucy also wrote a review of Apocalips which you can read here. Lucy prefers bright shades, however I prefer nude so if you want to see what the brighter colours are like, then check out her blog post.
What does the product description say?
It's the End of Colour as you know it!
The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine.
It's neither a lipstick nor a gloss... It's BIGGER than both!
LONG LIVE THE COLOUR!

Firstly, I love the name and packaging! It looks very futuristic and it makes it stand out from the crowd, I imagine this is how make-up will look in the future! I was hoping for a moisturising lip lacquer, however I was disappointed, as this seems to dry my lips out and I find that the colour does not last. It's also a bit too pale for my colouring, it seems to wash me out slightly. I would recommended trying a slightly darker colour from the range, if you are worried about this being too pale as it is VERY pale.

That being said, recently I have been pleasantly surprised by Rimmel, considering it is a budget brand, I am very impressed by the quality of their products, and I find many of their products are better than some of the high end products I have purchased recently. Overall, my opinion is neutral on this product, I am slightly underwhelmed but if you are after a pale lip lacquer which aims to be between a lip gloss and a lipstick and you aren't bothered about it being moisturising, then I recommend this. I got this for £5.99 from Boots where Rimmel products are currently 2 for £10.
